With our smallest group sizes offered, you’ll have personalized attention from our expert Captains and Marine Naturalists. This trip is perfect for those looking for an all-day Adventure, with a capital A!
What To Expect
10:20 am - Check in at our office, located at 10 Front Street, Suite 102, Friday Harbor WA 98250. We are just steps away from the Friday Harbor ferry terminal on San Juan Island!
10:30 am - Boarding begins! Our Marine Naturalists will provide an introduction. Everyone will be fitted with Exposure Suits (think ski pants and jacket) to keep you extra warm and dry on the water.
11:00 am - Off the dock and the adventure begins!
5:00 pm - Return to Friday Harbor

Prepare for Your Adventure
- Plan your travel in advance to either fly into Friday Harbor or ride the Washington State Ferry service from Anacortes to San Juan Island.
- Bring a packed lunch, water, and snacks. There is no food service available on this vessel.
- Wear a comfortable base layer. Our Exposure Suits will keep you extra warm and dry on the water.
- Get ready for a fun, unforgettable day on the water!

About the Boat
Kestrel
The Kestrel is San Juan Safaris’ smallest and fastest boat built in 2015. At 34ft, this rigid inflatable-style vessel is unlike any other on San Juan Island! The longer length and heavier hull provide a smooth and steady ride, even at high speeds. Kestrel has open-air bench seating for up to 28 passengers per the US Coast Guard. To ensure maximum comfort on this full-day adventure, we have a maximum of 16 guests on board. Guests remain seated on one of the comfortable bench seats while in motion, but a wide aisle way around the entire boat allows you to stand up and move around when viewing whales and wildlife. Kestrel also has the convenience of a restroom on board.
