Join us for our Classic Whale Watch & Wildlife Tour out of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island.
The Classic Tour is 3-4 hours in length and is the best tour for those traveling with young children, the elderly, and large groups.
With 1-3 Marine Naturalists on board, all your questions will be answered, and you will walk away with knowledge about the local wildlife, ecology, and geology of the San Juans.
Enjoy breathtaking scenery as you cruise through the San Juan Islands in search of orcas, seals, bald eagles, sea lions, porpoises, and much more!
What to Expect
Enjoy the beauty of the San Juan Islands while you cruise on our boats and take in all the sights the local marine wildlife has to offer. Every tour is unique! Before each trip, our Captains and Marine Naturalists review the private sightings database from the Pacific Whale Watch Association to design the optimal tour route. We may venture north into Canadian waters, south into the Strait of Juan de Fuca, or stay around the San Juan Islands. Our crew is excited to chat about all things Salish Sea and answer any questions about the wildlife we encounter!

Itinerary
Arriving to San Juan Island - Ask us about our Whale Plane Package or advice on utilizing the Washington State Ferry to ride from Anacortes to our location on San Juan Island. Learn more about transportation options with our Travel Guide.
40 Minutes Prior to Tour Time - Please check in at our office, located at 10 Front Street Suite 102, Friday Harbor WA 98250. We will provide further instructions on the vessel's location, and surrounding facilities to prepare for your tour. If you have any strollers or luggage, we can store those items in the office.
20 Minutes Prior to Tour Time - We start boarding! Your Captains and Marine Naturalists will introduce themselves and provide information about the vessel.
Tour Time - The adventure begins as soon as we leave the dock! Whales and wildlife have been spotted right in the Friday Harbor marina, so keep your head on a swivel.
Tours are 3-4 hours - We try to keep tours closer to the 3-hour mark, but sometimes whale reports are further away. That 4th hour is sometimes critical to ensure we can view cetaceans such as orcas, humpback whales, and other wildlife.
Post Tour - During the summer months, swing by our office after the tour for a free poster!
Our wonderful vessels Osprey and Sea Lion operate our Classic Whale Watch & Wildlife Safaris! These boats are great for all ages and offer a smooth, comfortable ride. Both vessels are equipped with indoor areas, covered outdoor sections, and restrooms on board.
