The M/V Sea Lion is San Juan Safaris’ flagship vessel that has been in operation since 2008. At 55ft, this fiberglass boat is perfect for whale watchers of all ages. US Coast Guard approved for 49 passengers, the Sea Lion only takes out up to 40 to ensure plenty of viewing space. With a heated cabin, inside and outside seating, and a full wrap around viewing deck, there is lots of room to move around and stretch your legs throughout the tour. The Sea Lion has a comfortable and modern marine head (toilet) on board for your convenience. There are ample hand rails, a non-skid deck, and lots of bench seating at the bow and stern of the boat.

The Sea Lion carries blankets and slickers on board for any rainy day tours to make sure you stay warm, dry and comfortable. The inside cabin comfortably fits up to 30 passengers and there is also covered seating at the stern to keep guests out of any weather.

With a field guide library and children’s books on board, the Sea Lion is perfect for families and those traveling with young children. What to bring/wear on the Classic Tour: Pack along snacks, water, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, and a camera.

Temperatures are cooler on the water and warm layers and closed toed shoes are recommended. Depending on the season, rain gear is also recommended.
