Known as the âFriendly Isle,â Lopez boasts beaches, farmland and forest. As the least populated of the San Juan Islands, this is a place to truly unwind and enjoy the natural beauty around you.
Lopez Island Activities
The least hilly of all the islands, Lopez makes for easy bicycling, and with more than one cycle shop youâll have no trouble renting a set of wheels. If you prefer to be powered by your own two feet, Lopez Hill offers a network of trails covering 400 acres.
Whale watching from Lopez Island is so easy. Just hop on an inter-island ferry to Friday Harbor.
Agriculture has always been integral to the San Juan Islands, and on Lopez visitors can feast upon that heritage with farm-to-table dining at local eateries. Or go straight to the source, visiting working farms, a vineyard or the farmers market. While youâre at it, make a point to seek out many of the historic barns around the island.
Lopez Village is the commercial hub of the island, where youâll find shops, galleries and restaurants.
