Sarah M.

Captain, Lead Whale Watch Naturalist & Vessel Coordinator

Sarah grew up in western Massachusetts with a deep affinity for the outdoors.  She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife and Conservation Biology, and has since been on the road following whales between San Juan Island and Maui.

Sarah fell in love with the San Juan Islands and is excited to be returning for a fifth season out on the water. She is passionate about marine mammals, especially the killer whales found in the Salish Sea.

If she's not on a boat or in the water you can usually find her on a mountain skiing or hiking, knee-deep in tidepools looking for invertebrates, or buried in a book tucked away somewhere on San Juan Island.
