Erick grew up in Apex, North Carolina, and went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill studying Biology, Marine Sciences and Spanish.

He has worked at Oregon State University and for the Department of Energy in Washington. Erick loves the PNW and really enjoys any water activities from sailing to body­surfing. If the weather is inclement, Erick likes doing calligraphy, unicycling, and cooking. Overall he loves the ocean and sharing his excitement about it!
