November 20, 2005 Tragedy struck at our house yesterday afternoon. Our dear and beloved pure bread African Gray Goose, Gretta, was killed by a Golden Eagle who was found eating her when our friend Rachel came over to our house. Gretta had been with us 6 years. Pate, our other goose, is fine. She is living in the house with us until we can all get over this. The Golden Eagle, pictured at right, ate SO much, it was too heavy to fly off. We did not want a fox to eat the eagle, so we moved the eagle to our barn for the night.

This morning we brought the eagle to Wolf Hollow (wildlife rehabilitation on San Juan Island)just to be certain there was nothing wrong with it. The eagle will remain at Wolf Hollow for observation.

So, off Captain Peter took them. It was a good nature tour, sea birds, seals, porpoise and lots of beautiful scenery. The Orca Whales could not be found by anyone.
