We have a new goose! Bought her yesterday off island. She is a Toulouse/Chinees blend (we think). She is a big girl. (So was Gretta before the Golden Eagle got her).
Updates: Dec 27 &30 Humpbacks seen near Victoria, BC. Dec 27 orcas off Pender Island (in Canada, north of Victoria)December 24 on Christmas Eve some orcas were seen near Edmonds.
The new boat (55') is coming along fine and ON TIME! It is being constructed in Blaine Wa.

December 23, 2005 Today there was an otter right outside our office window. Yesterday there was a loon. Today the orca whales, J pod was seen down near the Seattle area. Dec 13 two gray whales seen near Victoria, Dec 14 between Clallam Bay and Neah Bay one humpback whale, Dec 16 Point Ricards Beach/Gig Harbor orca whales, Dec 17 orca whales seen off Kingston ferry lane. Dec. 18 Swansons channel. Dec 19, 20 &21 no one reported any sightings.

San Juan Island, Washington

December 12, 2005 Brrrrrrr it has been cold up here. We had snow Dec 1 &2. Saturday evening it got down to 27 degrees! What have the orca whales been doing? Dec 8 a FIN whale was reported off Victoria along with some transients. December 4 J and K pods sighted off Victoria. Any time now our resident orca are expected to leave the area for open water (and fish!). The new boat: is coming along 'on schedule'. We are now discussing details such as exactly what will go in the bathroom (in addition to the usual).

Staff news: Tiffany in New Zealand. Kate is in Spain. Lindsy Lee returned from Costa Rica. Margo headed to England for a teaching position. Brent, Lindsy &Amy in Colorado with skiing jobs. Dink (Erik Dinkle) looking into the Peace Corp, Deborah delivering packages for the holidays and still in school, Gene is in school becoming an emergency nurse, Brian looking after boat building details, Sarah teaching in San Diego and diving, Capt Pouillion on island, ditto for Capt Cal, Capts Peter and Nancy hanging in Arizona for the winter and Capt Peter Albert in Seattle for the winter.
