Here in the islands, we receive approximately 18 inches per year. We are considered the "banana belt" or in the "rain shadow" of the Olympic Mountains.
May - September the island is generally sunny and warm and in the 70's.
Just west of here, the Olympic Rain Forest receives 250 inches per year.
